About
Prof. (Dr.) Rajib Kumar Bhattacharjya is working as Professor in the department of Civil Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India. Earlier, he worked in National Institute in Technology Silchar (July 1997-May 2008) and in Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat Assam (May 1995- July 1997). He received his Bachelor and Master Degree in Civil Engineering from Gauhati University, India in the year 1993 and 1995 respectively and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India in the year 2004. The title of his doctoral thesis was “Management of saltwater intrusion in coastal aquifers using ANN-GA based simulation optimization approach”. His current research interests include coupled simulation-optimization modeling for groundwater management, modeling of virus transport process in a groundwater aquifer, management of saltwater intrusion process in coastal aquifers, climate change and applications of genetic algorithms and artificial neural networks in groundwater management. He authored more than 80 research articles in international journals and conference proceedings. He was also a visiting research scholar at the Department of Civil and Resource Engineering, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada in the year 2002, 2006, 2007 and 2010.
