My research interests lie at the intersection of nomadic pastoralism, livelihood vulnerability, climate change, and intersectional perspectives. I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Centre for Pastoralism in New Delhi, where I assess the livelihood transitions and decision-making factors among pastoralists in western India. My doctoral work, sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, explored the livelihood transitions of the Gujjar and Bakarwal tribes in Jammu and Kashmir, with a focus on climate change-induced livelihood vulnerability and adaptations. Rooted in my empirical research, I advocate for due recognition to pastoralists' knowledge and practices. I employ mixed-methods approach and sustainable livelihood frameowork to establish connections between nomadic pastoralism and emerging uncertainties. Over the past few years, I have led several collaborative initiatives, including national conferences, research projects, and publications, which have contributed to the academic and policy dialogue on pastoralism and climate resilience.
