About
Dr. Bhanuranjan Das is a passionate and multidisciplinary researcher with strong expertise in medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) BHU, where his research focused on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly the role of protein aggregation in Alzheimer’s disease. His scientific work spans synthetic chemistry, molecular modeling, molecular docking and dynamics simulations, DFT calculations, QSAR modeling, and pharmacophore-based drug design.
He also holds an M.S. (Pharm.) in Medicinal Chemistry from NIPER Kolkata, during which he conducted one year of intensive research at CSIR-IICB (Kolkata), gaining foundational experience in drug discovery and chemical biology.
Dr. Das has over 1.5 years of academic teaching experience as an Assistant Professor at the Bengal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, where he taught medicinal chemistry and mentored undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Currently, he serves as a Research Manager in Chemical R&D at Sun Pharma Industries Ltd., where he is actively involved in API process development, method design, impurity profiling (including nitrosamines and other Genotoxic impurities), and scaling of laboratory processes to the plant level.
He has published 20+ research articles in reputed international journals such as ACS Chemical Neuroscience, Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis, Bioorganic Chemistry, and ChemistrySelect, among others. His research contributions have added valuable insights to the fields of drug discovery, neuropharmacology, and synthetic methodologies.
As a recognized expert in the field, Dr. Das is also a regular peer reviewer for international journals, including Scientific Reports (Nature Publishing Group), Discover Applied Sciences (Springer Nature), and Brain Research (Elsevier), contributing to the advancement and integrity of scientific publication.
