About
My research focuses on developing sustainable solutions at the interface of water treatment, industrial waste management, and resource recovery, with an emphasis on circular economy principles. The goal is to convert environmental wastes into value-added resources while addressing critical challenges in water quality and pollution control.
My work has primarily involved the removal of heavy metals, dyes, and emerging contaminants from wastewater using adsorption-based processes. I have developed low-cost and efficient adsorbents derived from agro-residues, fly ash, and other industrial by-products, with a focus on adsorption mechanisms, kinetics, and process optimization.
A central theme of my research is the valorization of industrial and agro-industrial wastes. I explore the utilization of materials such as fly ash, non-coal ash, and biomass residues for applications in water treatment, construction, and energy recovery. My ongoing work includes developing guidelines for non-coal ash management and briquetting of agro-industrial wastes as sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels, particularly for industrial applications.
To ensure real-world applicability, I integrate Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA) into my research. LCA helps evaluate environmental impacts across the life cycle, while TEA assesses economic feasibility and scalability. This combined approach supports the development of solutions that are not only technically effective but also economically viable and environmentally sustainable.
My future research aims to advance waste-derived functional materials, circular pathways for industrial waste utilization, and scalable treatment systems for complex wastewater. I am also interested in linking modern technologies with field-scale applications and traditional water management practices.
My long-term vision is to bridge laboratory research with industrial implementation by developing cost-effective, scalable, and sustainable environmental technologies aligned with national priorities in water and waste management.
