About
Dr. Rahul Davis is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering with over 14 years of academic and research experience in Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) registered in both the United Kingdom (Engineering Council, UK) and India (Institution of Engineers – IEI), and a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (MIMechE), UK.
He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Patna, India. His research expertise spans advanced manufacturing processes, including traditional and non-traditional machining, micro-machining, surface engineering, additive and hybrid manufacturing, biomaterials, and superalloys. His recent work increasingly focuses on sustainable and intelligent manufacturing systems, including process optimization and data-driven approaches for industrial applications.
Dr. Davis has published over 70 peer-reviewed research articles, primarily in high-impact Q1 journals such as The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, CIRP Journal of Manufacturing Science and Technology, Wear, and Surface and Coatings Technology. His research has received over 1300 citations, with an H-index of 15 (Google Scholar), 13 (Scopus), and 11 (Web of Science), reflecting strong international research impact.
He has held international academic positions, including Visiting Professor at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), Brazil, where he contributed to strengthening global research collaborations in advanced manufacturing. His collaborative network spans leading institutions in the USA, UK, Brazil, Belgium, Spain, and other countries, involving interdisciplinary research in manufacturing, materials, and biomedical engineering.
Dr. Davis has received multiple Best Research Paper Awards and has delivered invited lectures and plenary talks at international conferences and universities worldwide. He actively contributes to the academic community as a reviewer, Associate Editor, and Guest Editor for reputed international journals.
He is a member of several professional bodies, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME, USA), and currently serves as the Founding Chair of the ASME Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand Professional Section. His work continues to focus on advancing sustainable manufacturing technologies, optimizing industrial processes, and developing innovative engineering solutions for high-performance materials and applications.
