About
Dr.S.Sivanandam a native of Jolarpet, Tirupathur District, Tamilnadu, India. He strongly believes in the quote from the sacred Bhagavad Gita that “All is well”. He completed his under-graduation (B.E) in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Priyadarshini Engineering College, Vaniyambadi, and completed his post-graduation (M.E) in Medical Electronics at Anna University (CEG), Chennai. He pursued his research in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, School of Bioengineering, SRM University. His field of research is non-invasive diagnosis and prognosis of pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes mellitus based on infrared thermography. He had worked on seminal research by considering skin surface temperature as a non-invasive marker for diagnosis of type 2 diabetes and succeeded in identifying the non-invasive surrogate marker to diagnose pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes without blood sample extraction. He was the recipient of the Gold Medal for presenting innovative research work during the Research Day (National Science Day) being held at SRM University in the year 2012. Also, he was one of the recipients of the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI-2013) award at the National level for presenting the non-invasive early diagnostic method for pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM, Ahmedabad); the award was received from the hands of Dr. R.A. Mashelkar, Chairman, National Innovation Foundation, India.
