Dr. Bijayalaxmi Rautaray is currently working as Director, Library at KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. She holds M.A.(Economics), MLISc, PGDLAN, and PhD in Library and Information Science. She has more than 23 years of experience in LIS profession. She has authored 7 edited books and published 15 research papers in international and national journals of repute. As an organizing secretary, she has organized several international conferences like, 10th Manlibnet convention in 2009 on the theme “Organizational Excellence in Business and Management Libraries”; International Conference on "Marching beyond the Libraries (ICMBL) on the theme “The Role of Social Media and Networking" in the year 2016; and 2018 International Conference on Marching Beyond the Libraries (ICMBL) on the theme “Managerial Skills and Technological Competencies; 12th International Caliber 2019 during 28-30 November 2019 on the theme “Library 2030: Moving towards Smart Technologies, Services and Resources”; and organized 1 capacity building program of National Mission Libraries (NML) for public library personnel during 2017. Besides, she has organized 4 different librarians Development Programmes (LDP) in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2017 on the themes, “Librarianship at Cross Road”, ‘New Age Librarianship: Issues, Challenges & Opportunity”, ‘Recent Trends in Librarianship”, “Digital Preservation and Utilization of Intellectual Resources” respectively. She has developed a state of Art International standard New Central Library of Seven Floors at KIIT Deemed to be University and constituent libraries like, KIARA - The Spiritual Library; KARAMCHAND – The Gandhian Library;KAVYA – The Poetry Library; and KAMYA – The Fiction Library at KIIT Deemed to be University. She is a life member of profession associations like, Indian Library Association, New Delhi; Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centre, Kolkata; and Management Libraries Network, New Delhi. Dr. Rautaray is the editor-in-chief of a referred journal entitled, KIIT Journal of Library and Information Management.
