About
Highly motivated research professional with a doctorate focused on “self-assembly of discrete supramolecular architectures via metal-ligand coordination bonding” from Indian Institute of Science Bangalore under the guidance of Prof. P. S. Mukherjee. The objective of my PhD thesis was to design functionalized imidazole organic molecules as a donor to synthesize discrete molecular architectures processing well defined functional properties. The self-assembled architecture was then utilized for host-guest chemistry, stabilization of reactive intermediates and catalysis reaction in aqueous medium under mild conditions. In another approach, I have designed several emissive Pt(II)-based discrete nano-architectures as light harvesting materials and utilized as visible light induced photocatalyst for organic transformation. I also performed semi-empirical and DFT based calculations using Gaussian 09 software to achieve a better insight of the supramolecular assemblies, interlocked systems and the host-guest interactions inside their nano cavities. These results have been published in peer-reviewed international journals and also presented my works in two international conferences.
During Postdoctoral Research Associate in the same group, I worked on development of supramolecular materials for visible light photocatalyst, anion sensing, and storage of CO2 gas.
Currently I am working as an Assistant professor in the department of Chemistry at Birla Institute of Technology BIT-Mesra, Ranchi.
