Presently, Prof. Sunil K. Singh is working as Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET), Degree Wing, Chandigarh, India. CCET (Degree Wing) is a Centrally Funded Premier Institute of Chandigarh Union Territory (UT) and academic affiliation with Panjab University, Chandigarh, India.

Prof. Singh joined CCET as a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in December 2014, through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi, India , at the young age of 35. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science and Engineering from MMMEC, Gorakhpur, a Master of Engineering (M.E.) in CSE from Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU), Dehradun, in collaboration with NSIT, Delhi. He is deeply passionate about both teaching and research.

His areas of expertise include: High-Performance Computing, Linux/Unix, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Computer Architecture & Organization, Computer Networks.

Prof. Singh has authored more than 260+ research papers in reputed international and national journals and conferences. He has successfully guided 3 Ph.D. scholars and is currently supervising 5 Ph.D. students at Panjab University, Chandigarh. He has been granted 07 patents (including design and utility models), with 02 more published and several others under review. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for over 150+ international journals and has reviewed more than 770+ research papers to date.

In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 mandate of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, two of his undergraduate students from the 2021–2025 batch, Saket Sarin and Shivam Goyal, have published 12 research papers under his mentorship and guidance in project work. Notably, five (05) of these papers have been published in SCI-indexed international journals.

Prof. Singh is a member of the Expert Advisory Committee working on various book projects (Definitional Directory and Technological Glossary) for the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT), Ministry of Education, Government of India. He contributed as a subject author in a Published E-book dictionary with CSTT titled "Fundamental Glossary of Information Technology (English-Hindi)". He has also contributed to a UGC-CARE-listed journal (SI-Vol 113), and several other academic books are currently in the publication pipeline.

In August 2021, his textbook titled “Linux Yourself: Concept and Programming” was published by Taylor & Francis (CRC Press), Florida, USA.

Prof. Singh is actively involved in the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) as a Professional Member and has contributed to the Eminent Speaker Program (ESP) of ACM India. He is the founding faculty mentor of the CCET ACM Student Chapter (https://ccet.acm.org), established in 2015, and has been recognized as a recruiter in the Ambassadors for ACM Member Recruitment Program in October 2017 and September 2021.

He also serves as a mentor under the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) of NITI Aayog, Government of India.

Prof. Singh's biography was selected and published in the prestigious "Marquis Who's Who in the World," 32nd Edition (2015), USA. Due to his significant academic
contributions, he holds membership in over 14 professional bodies, including ACM, IEEE, IEI, IDES, LMISTE, ACEEE, IACSIT, IAENG, ICST, AIRCC, IAOE, and ISOC.
