Sandhya Nadella

About

Dr. N. Sandhya is a Professor and Head of Research & Development in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering and has over 24 years of teaching, research, and administrative experience in engineering education.
Her subject expertise includes Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Big Data Analytics, Information Retrieval, Database Management Systems, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Java Programming, and Design Thinking. She has guided four Ph.D. scholars and is actively supervising doctoral research under JNTU Hyderabad and JNTU Kakinada.
Dr. N. Sandhya has published more than 70 research papers in reputed SCI and SCOPUS-indexed journals and international conferences, including IEEE and Springer publications. She has also co-authored books in Artificial Intelligence and Mobile & Wireless Networks. Her research interests focus on intelligent computing frameworks, optimization algorithms, AI-driven analytics, and advanced machine learning applications.
She has served as a reviewer, session chair, keynote speaker, and technical committee member for several national and international conferences. She has also contributed to innovation through published patents and funded research projects in AI, deep learning, and intelligent systems. Her recent achievement includes securing a DRDO-sponsored project titled “All-Weather Image Enhancement and Object Detection for Drone and Armored Vehicle Imagery” with a sanctioned budget of ₹1.30 Crores.
