About
Dr. Kakoli Das is a social scientist specializing in family dynamics, low fertility, and MCH. Her research explores the intersections of fertility transitions, economic trajectory, and cognitive science, with a strong regional focus on India and comparative insights from global low- and middle-income countries. She has worked extensively with large-scale datasets such as DHS, PLFS, and IHDS, applying both quantitative and behavioral approaches to understand demographic change.
Her ongoing projects examine the paradox of fertility decline in India, the socio-cognitive drivers of family size decisions, and the lived experiences of marginalized women in rural India.
