About
Dr. Nikhil Srivastava is an alumnus of the esteemed King George’s Medical College in Lucknow, India. He is a distinguished academician, clinician, researcher, and administrator. With over 29 years of teaching and more than 15 years of administrative experience, he is currently serving as the Principal & Dean, Professor, and Head of Subharti Dental College & Hospital at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University Meerut UP India since 2010. Dr. Srivastava is in his 4th consecutive term as a member of the Science Committee of the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry (IAPD).
Dr. Nikhil served as International Advisor to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (2021–2024). He has been a member of the Dental Council of India (DCI) since 2016, which has recently been superseded by the National Dental Commission (NDC). He also served as an Adjunct Professor at Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia (2023–2024) and as National Secretary General of the Indian Society of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry (2018–2024).
With over 2276 citations (h-index 25, i10-index 44) from more than 105 publications, Dr. Srivastava has contributed numerous chapters to reference books in pediatric dentistry. To date, he has supervised/ co-supervised more than 80 research projects, with 12 ongoing projects where he is involved as a supervisor/co-supervisor. Additionally, three PhD scholars are currently pursuing their degrees under his guidance.
Dr. Srivastava also has 2 published patents in his name: the “Winged Nipple” for feeding infants with cleft lip & palate and a Biomedical Waste Bin for the effective segregation of chair-side biomedical waste in dental settings. Furthermore, he has designed an innovative “Tube and Loop Space Maintainer,” also known as the Nikhil Appliance, and proposed the Nikhil and Rana Classification of Biological Restorations and Nikhil & Noopur criteria for obturation of primary teeth. All of these have been published in PubMed-indexed journals and are widely utilized in practice.
Dr. Srivastava has been a part of various medical and academic missions, including Invited Speaker at the IAPD Congress at Capetown, South Africa, two times Visiting Scholar at the Indiana University School of Dentistry Indianapolis, USA, Guest Faculty at the University of Mauritius, Team Leader of the Group Study Exchange Program to Texas, USA and a team member of the Inter-Continental Medicare Project to various countries namely Zambia, Malawi, Cambodia and Congo.
Dr. Srivastava has been conferred with several Fellowships, namely National Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS), Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow (FDS-RCPSG), Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FDS-RCSEd) and the International College of Dentists (FICD), in recognition of his commitment to advancing scientific education, research, and healthcare delivery in dentistry.
He has also received several accolades for his contributions to dental education, research, and clinical practice, including the ‘Star Pedodontist Award 2011’ by the Indian Society of Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry, the ‘Best President Award 2016’ by the Indian Dental Association Uttar Pradesh State, the ‘Best Teacher Award’ in Pediatric Dentistry 2024 by the Pierre Fauchard Academy (India Section), and the Extraordinary Service Award 2025 by Swami Vivekanand Subharti University.
