About
Alex Jose is a Physics graduate and Research Assistant with a strong background in materials science, nanomaterials, and solid-state physics. He completed his Master’s degree in Physics at St. Thomas College, Palai (affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India), where his research focused on the synthesis, structural, and electrical characterization of polymer–nanocomposite materials and nonlinear optical crystals.
He is currently working as a Research Assistant under Dr. Ginson P. Joseph in the Materials Science Laboratory at St. Thomas College. His work involves exploring the structural, dielectric, and electrochemical properties of advanced functional materials for energy and electronic applications. Alex has hands-on experience with X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermal analysis (STA), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), dielectric measurements, and related experimental techniques.
In addition to his experimental expertise, Alex is skilled in computational tools such as Python, MATLAB, C++, COMSOL Multiphysics, and Quantum Espresso for data analysis and materials modelling. He has co-authored publications in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics and the Journal of Electrochemical Science and Engineering, and has presented his research at national conferences.
His research interests include semiconductor materials, perovskite and polymer composites, organic electronics, and advanced X-ray characterization techniques. Alex aims to pursue doctoral research focused on the microstructural and electronic properties of next-generation materials for optoelectronic and energy applications.
