About

Hey, I am Shashank Dokania, a researcher and Final BHMS academic at Dr. D.Y. Patil Homoeopathic Medical College and Research Center, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed University), Pune, Maharashtra, India. My journey in research has been driven by a singular goal: to bridge the gap between traditional homoeopathic practices and modern scientific understanding. My primary focus has been on understanding how homoeopathic remedies work at the cellular level, exploring their potential through human cell models, clinical trials, and in vivo studies.

My work begins with human cell model lines, where I study how homoeopathic medicines interact with various human cell types. These in vitro studies are crucial because they provide insight into the biochemical and molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of homoeopathic treatments. Through these experiments, I aim to validate the scientific foundations of homoeopathy, demonstrating that these remedies have tangible effects at a cellular level.

In addition to lab-based research, I am deeply committed to conducting clinical trials. Working with patients, I evaluate the efficacy and safety of homoeopathic treatments for various health conditions. These trials, which involve diverse patient populations, are essential for advancing homoeopathy as a mainstream treatment modality. It is through rigorous clinical evidence that we can integrate homoeopathic practices into the broader healthcare system and demonstrate their value to both patients and practitioners.

I am also involved in in vivo studies, where I assess how homoeopathic remedies influence biological systems in living organisms. These animal model studies help us understand the systemic effects of homoeopathy, including immune modulation, organ protection, and tissue regeneration. By studying the broader physiological impacts, we can better understand how homoeopathy can contribute to holistic healing, not just symptom management.

Over the years, my research has resulted in several publications, and I am proud to have been granted copyrights by the Government of India for some of my original methodologies and ideas. I also hold several patents related to homoeopathic formulations and delivery systems, which I believe have the potential to revolutionize the way we approach treatment, both in clinical settings and in the field of preventive care. All patents have been published in The Patent Office Journal.

While research is at the core of my work, I also have a strong passion for global diplomacy and youth empowerment. I am actively involved in Model United Nations (MUN), where I engage in discussions on global issues such as healthcare access, environmental sustainability, and international cooperation. I have a collective experience of being a part of 60+ Model UN Conferences both in India and Globally. My participation in MUN has helped me develop key skills in leadership, negotiation, and policy-making—skills I believe are essential in today’s interconnected world.

Looking forward, I am determined to continue advancing my research and to foster collaborations that cross disciplinary and geographical boundaries. My goal is to not only push the frontiers of homoeopathic medicine but also to contribute to policy discussions and global initiatives that improve healthcare, address global challenges, and promote sustainable development.

Through my work, I hope to demonstrate that homoeopathy is not just a traditional practice, but a scientifically valid approach to healing that can complement and enhance modern medical practices. I am excited to see where this path will take me, and I remain committed to using my research to make a positive impact on both the scientific community and the world at large.
