About
I am a Technical Officer-C at the ICMR-National Institute for Research in Bacterial Infections, India, working in the Division of Clinical Medicine. My work focuses on supporting translational and clinical research through advanced laboratory techniques, animal experimentation, molecular biology, immunology, microbiology, and flow cytometry. I am actively involved in the development and maintenance of animal models, including diabetic foot ulcer, wound infection, and immunization models for vaccine and therapeutic research. I also have experience in the operation of advanced flow cytometry platforms and other high-end research instruments.
I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Medical Research under the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research. My doctoral research focuses on the application of bacteriophages as alternative therapeutic agents against multidrug-resistant bacterial pathogens, particularly in chronic wound and diabetic foot ulcer infections. My research integrates microbiology, molecular biology, host–pathogen interaction studies, biofilm biology, and translational research approaches to address the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).My scientific interests lie in understanding the interactions between bacteriophages, bacterial pathogens, and host immune responses, with a particular emphasis on developing innovative phage-based therapeutics for combating multidrug-resistant infections. I am especially interested in translating laboratory findings into clinically relevant interventions that can improve treatment outcomes for patients suffering from chronic wound and diabetic foot ulcer infections.
To enhance my research expertise and foster international scientific collaboration, I actively seek opportunities for short-term research exchanges, advanced training programs, and collaborative projects. These experiences provide exposure to cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, strengthen interdisciplinary research skills, facilitate knowledge exchange, and promote global scientific networking. Such interactions play a vital role in my professional development and contribute to the advancement of innovative solutions for infectious disease management. In addition to research activities, I contribute to laboratory management, procurement of scientific equipment and reagents, maintenance of high-end research infrastructure, and the smooth execution of intramural and extramural research projects. My long-term goal is to contribute to the development of novel phage-based and antimicrobial strategies against multidrug-resistant pathogens and to support high-quality biomedical research that advances public health and infectious disease control.
