About
I, Rina Rani Palei, am currently pursuing doctoral research with Dr/Prof. Anil Kumar Gupta from the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. My doctoral thesis focused on understanding the global and regional thermohaline changes associated with the progressive closure of the Indonesian Gateway. I use an integrated approach combining microfossils, stable isotopes, and sediment geochemistry to understand climate–ocean interactions over geological timescales. Alongside my research, I mentor undergraduates in dissertation work, research methodology, and scientific writing, and I serve as a lab teaching assistant with my supervisor, Prof. Anil Kumar Gupta.
