About
Dr. VENNILA S having 17 years of teaching and research experience, has a specific niche in the field of Traditional Rice with various breeding methods viz., Mutation Breeding, Heterosis, and Saline tolerance breeding.
Currently working as Assistant Professor (PBG) in the Centre of Excellence in Millets, Athiyandal. Tiruvannamalai Dt. doing quality seed production in various minor millets.
She got the distinction with three gold medals and recipient of the Vallalar Endowment Award. She has published around 40 research articles in national and international journals. She has been the Chairperson for 8 numbers of Post Graduate students and 2 PhD Research Scholars with a special emphasis on working in Rice. She is serving as an Associating Scientist for Interdisciplinary Research, Training, and Extension Activities in the Centre for Natural Farming and Sustainable Agriculture, at Annamalai University. She is very proactive and participatory and she has participated in almost all the trainings, seminars, symposiums, National and International Workshops, and conferences conducted by the various Departments as well as the Institution. To date a book entitled "COMPETITIVE AGRICULTURE PLANT SCIENCES(As per ICAR syllabus)" by Kalyani Publishers, New Delhi ISBN: 978-93-5540-473-2.
