About
I am an accomplished healthcare professional with a diverse background and a strong passion for improving public health outcomes. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at KAHER’s JGM Medical College in Hubballi, Karnataka, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the field of community medicine.
My academic journey began with the completion of my MBBS degree at Shri B M Patil Medical College in Bijapur, Karnataka. I pursued an M.D. in Community Medicine at JN Medical College, KLE University, Belgaum, Karnataka.
With over 10 years of professional experience in the realm of Public Health, I have had the privilege of collaborating with esteemed international organizations. My journey led me to significant roles at NPSP-WHO, JHPIEGO, UNICEF, and Engender Health. Notably, while serving as a State Consultant for Maternal Health (UNICEF), I was also in charge of PPTCT Consultant (UNICEF) for Andhra Pradesh for a short tenure, focusing on EMTCT training and validation exercises. Through these roles, spanning more than 10 years, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of public health dynamics at various levels, including district, regional, divisional, and state contexts. Through my roles, I have honed essential skills such as data analysis, effective communication, capacity building, and collaboration with governmental and partner entities. I have effectively organized workshops, meetings, and training sessions, fostering knowledge dissemination and capacity enhancement.
Before my current position, I contributed as a Technical Specialist at SAATHII, New Delhi, on their "MSSFPO Gender Integrated Response to COVID-19" project. My contributions to academia and research are equally significant. I've presented an international poster and delivered oral papers at National and State conferences. With eight publications bearing my name, I have demonstrated my commitment to contributing to the academic discourse in Public Health. By actively participating in CMEs and Workshops, I've honed my skills and knowledge. I take pride in my role as a state-level master trainer for national programs such as Dakshata, Kangaroo Mother Care, IUCD, PPIUCD, and PAIUCD insertions.
I have had the privilege of showcasing my work on both national and international platforms. Specifically, I have presented an international poster, contributed to a national poster, and shared scientific oral papers at three national conferences and two state-level conferences.
In summary, my journey from medical education to multifaceted roles in esteemed organizations has endowed me with a comprehensive skill set, a commitment to research-driven improvements, and a drive to effect meaningful change in the field of public health.
