About
Dr. Keshav Kumar a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology Haifa, Israel. I earned my Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from IIT Guwahati, India, specializing in hydrogen energy devices, membrane reactors, membrane preparation, hydrogen production and separation, and catalytic reaction engineering. I completed my B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering from NIT Srinagar (2013–2017). My doctoral research, titled “Performance Optimization of Pd–Ag Based Catalytic Membrane Reformer for ‘On-Site’ Hydrogen Production via Methanol Steam Reforming,” focuses on developing and optimizing Pd–Ag-based catalytic membrane systems for efficient on-site hydrogen generation. My research interests include hydrogen energy devices, membrane reactors, structured catalysts, process intensification, catalytic reaction engineering, and green fuel technologies. I have gained extensive experience in membrane fabrication, catalyst preparation, reactor design, and material characterization techniques, as well as in integrating and scaling up membrane reactor systems from 1kW to 10 kW. Other than this, I have substantial experience in materials synthesis and advanced characterization techniques, including SEM, TEM, XRD, BET, and GC, enabling me to establish clear structure–property–performance relationships in catalytic systems. My research also involved studying catalyst deactivation mechanisms, and developing mitigation strategies, which are critical for improving catalyst stability in practical applications. Furthermore, my work emphasizes process intensification, reactor design, and scale-up of membrane-based systems for on-site hydrogen generation.
