About

I am a polymer chemist with expertise in polymer processing, structure–property relationships, advanced polymer composites, and functional coating technologies. My research interests include sustainable materials, polymer recycling, composite manufacturing, and the development of high-performance materials for industrial applications.

My experience spans the formulation and characterization of alkyd, polyurethane, starch-based, epoxy, vinyl, and acrylic coating resins, along with extensive knowledge of thermoplastics (polypropylene, polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polystyrene, and nylon) and elastomer chemistry. I have a strong background in polymer synthesis, materials characterization, thermal analysis, mechanical testing, and structure–property evaluation.

During my Ph.D. research, I led a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)-funded project focused on developing structural polymer composites from post-consumer carpets and recycled thermoplastic resins. This work introduced a novel approach to manufacturing sustainable composites with enhanced mechanical performance while promoting circular economy principles and reducing plastic waste.

Currently, my research focuses on developing advanced coating technologies and polymeric materials for commercial applications, emphasizing sustainable formulations, process optimization, and material performance. I am passionate about applying polymer science to solve real-world challenges, advancing environmentally responsible technologies, and translating innovative research into practical industrial solutions.
