Dr. Ashish Kumar Shrivastava is presently working as Assistant Professor in Farm Machinery & Power Engineering at Swami Vivekanand College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology and Research Station, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. He obtained his Ph.D. in Farm Machinery & Power from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, after completing his M.Tech. and B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur.
His major fields of specialization include Farm Machinery & Power, Ergonomics and Safety in Agriculture, and Agricultural Engineering. Dr. Shrivastava has more than 18 years of teaching and research experience. He served as Scientist/Assistant Professor at SG College of Agriculture & Research Station, Jagdalpur (IGKV), Assistant Professor at RVSKVV Gwalior, Lecturer at IIIT Basar, Junior Project Officer at IIT Kharagpur, and Research Associate at SVPUAT, Meerut. With significant contributions in teaching, guiding students and handling 3 research projects including AICRP on Dryland Agriculture as Co-PI.
Dr. Shrivastava has published over 20 research papers in reputed journals, contributed 8 book chapters, authored 2 ICAR-published books, and holds 3 patents. His outstanding research has earned him several prestigious awards such as the ICAR–Jawaharlal Nehru Award for Outstanding Doctoral Thesis in Agricultural Engineering (2014), the ISAE Best Research Paper Award (2021), and the IEE Best Poster Presentation Award (2023). In addition to academics and research, he has shouldered important administrative responsibilities including Nodal Officer for ICAR Accreditation, In-charge of Academics & Examinations (UG) and Nodal for Anti-Ragging Squad.
His doctoral research on the Design of Universal Mounting Fixture and Deployable Roll-Over Protective Structure for 2WD Agricultural Tractors has been widely recognized, while his earlier research focused on ergonomic and safety aspects of agricultural machinery. Through his academic journey, Dr. Shrivastava has made significant contributions to agricultural engineering education, research, and innovation, particularly in the field of farm machinery and ergonomics, thereby enhancing the scientific and practical base of Indian agriculture.
