About
I am an instrumentation-focused astrophysics researcher and scientific-software developer with a background in Electronics and Communication Engineering. I completed an MSc in Astrophysics with Advanced Research at the University of Hertfordshire, where my principal research focused on developing a closed-loop feedback-control system for the EXOhSPEC high-resolution spectrograph platform.
My work combines environmental sensing, laser interferometry, thermoelectric and PID control, detector-image analysis, active-optics correction and Python-based scientific pipelines to investigate and reduce instability in astronomical instrumentation. I also develop reproducible research software using astronomical datasets from facilities and surveys including Gaia, DESI, VISTA, DES and WISE.
My broader research interests include astronomical instrumentation, spectrograph stabilisation, detector characterisation, optical metrology, exoplanet instrumentation, brown dwarfs, radio astronomy and scientific computing. I have contributed to peer-reviewed publications in Optical and Quantum Electronics and IEEE conference proceedings, including work on visible-light communication systems using Raspberry Pi.
My long-term goal is to pursue doctoral research in astronomical instrumentation and contribute to the development of precise, reliable measurement systems for observational astrophysics.
