Jatin Gupta

About

I am a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, where my research focuses on leveraging AI for climate change and consumer-aware sustainability.

I recently completed my undergraduate studies at Sharda University, Greater Noida, majoring in Computer Science and Data Science. My academic pursuits focus majorly on Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications, especially in the legal and financial domains.

I Interned at the Solar Division (PM-KUSUM) of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (Government of India) under mentorship of Dr. Nikhil Gakkhar (Scientist-D).

I’ve recently completed Research Internship at IIT Kharagpur and IIIT-Naya Raipur under guidance of Dr. Atasi Mohanty and Dr. Santosh Kumar, respectively.

During the summer of 2024, I interned at Infosys under Trapti Singhal, where I developed a time series–based demand forecasting model that improved forecast accuracy by 5% and presented the results to board-level stakeholders.

Under Dr. Ali Imam Abidi, I co-developed Legal Assist AI, which outperformed GPT-3.5 on legal reasoning tasks. Building on that, I helped create CA-Ben, a benchmark for financial reasoning in LLMs, which I presented at MoStart 2025 in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I’ve also co-authored multiple book chapters in the field of AI, contributing to academic research and interdisciplinary knowledge sharing.
