Dr. Vivek Kumar Tripathi did his B.Sc. (Ag. & AH) from Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur (U.P.), M.Sc. in Horticulture from Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan (H.P.) and Ph. D. from C. S. J. M. University Kanpur (U.P.). After qualifying for ICAR-NET he served as a Lecturer of Horticulture at Janta College, Bakewar, Etawah (Kanpur University) from 1999 to 2002 and later on joined Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur (U.P.) as Assistant Professor Horticulture and presently working as Professor and Head in the Department of Horticulture and Department of Fruit Science, CSAUA&T, Kanpur (U.P.).
He actively taught UG, PG, and Ph.D. classes in the College of Agriculture, Home Science, and Horticulture and guided more than 29 M.Sc. students and Four Ph. D Schoolers as a chairman and more than 75 students as a member of the advisory committee. Dr. Tripathi has published more than 79 research papers and articles in journals of national and international repute. He also wrote nine books, 14 book chapters, and twelve practical manuals on different horticulture subjects for the sake of students and scientists. Besides participating in more than 40 national and international seminars, symposia, and conferences, he also has the credit to organize two refresher courses and one training program for trainers and faculty members. Dr. Tripathi is the recipient of “HTHS Gold Medal”, “Young Scientist Award”, “Fellow REDS-2015”, “Dr. Ram Kripal Pathak Vishist Krishi Vaigyanik Puraskar-Baagwani (Fal)”, “Excellence in Teaching Awards”, “Fellow SSDTA-2016”, “Outstanding Achievement Award” “Excellence in Research Award” “IMRF Eminent Horticulturist Award”, “ISHRD Best Teacher Award-2018” “Fellow HTHS-2020” and more then “Half dozen best poster presentation awards” for their contribution in teaching, research and extension activities in the field of horticulture by various scientific societies. He also standardized technologies to enhance the production and productivity of various fruit crops, especially strawberry, guava, banana, mango, aonla, peach, etc for growers. Dr. Tripathi visited countries like Taiwan and Malaysia and has also handled two research projects on tissue culture and nursery management as Principal Investigator. He is a life member of many professional societies in the field of Horticulture and Agriculture. He is a member of Board of Studies and Research Degree Committee at different universities.
