About
I am a passionate and detail-oriented researcher pursuing a Ph.D. in Pharmacology at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani – Pilani Campus. My doctoral research is focused on the pathophysiology of diabetes and its systemic complications, with a special emphasis on diabetic kidney disease (DKD).
I hold an M.S. (Pharm.) in Pharmacology and Toxicology from NIPER-Hajipur. I previously served as a Junior Research Fellow at the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), Tata Memorial Centre. My academic training and research experience have fostered a deep interest in understanding the molecular crosstalk between metabolic disorders, neurodegeneration, and renal pathophysiology.
My master's thesis focused on evaluating the neuroprotective efficacy of β-sitosterol using both in vivo (C57BL/6J mouse model) and in vitro (SHSY-5Y neuroblastoma cells) models of diabetic neuropathy. This work integrated behavioral assays, cellular toxicity analysis, and molecular profiling to assess therapeutic outcomes.
I bring hands-on expertise in behavioral neuroscience (MWM, NOR, FST, OFT), immunohistochemistry, ELISA, western blotting, and advanced in vitro methodologies such as MTT, ROS detection, mitochondrial membrane potential analysis, and scratch wound healing assays.
I have authored multiple peer-reviewed review articles published in Aging Research Reviews (Elsevier), including:
• “Unlocking the therapeutic potential of natural stilbene: Exploring pterostilbene as a powerful ally against aging and cognitive decline”
• “Unveiling the interplay of AMPK/SIRT1/PGC-1α axis in brain health: Promising targets against aging and NDDs”
In addition, I have received provisional design patent acceptance for an innovative behavioral neuroscience apparatus titled:
“MULTI-ODOR DISCRIMINATION TASK CHAMBER FOR ANALYISING VARIOUS MEMORIES IN RODENTS”, designed to advance memory assessment in preclinical models.
Through my research, I aim to contribute to the development of multi-targeted therapies that address the complex interplay of metabolic and renal diseases.
