With a strong foundation in literary theory and criticism, Patel is dedicated to contributing to the academic discourse through publications and presentations. Shivangi is currently striving to bridge the gap between Indian classical texts, their renditions and contemporary societal issues.

Serving as a Teaching Assistant and Research Scholar at IIT Roorkee, contributing to the development of soft skills curricula; her core competencies include qualitative research and interest in Women Studies, Indian Mythology, Indian knowledge systems.
