Soumen Nath is currently employed in Swami Vivekananda University, Kolkata, as Director – Corporate Relations & Head: Department of Hospital Management. Previously he was with George College, Kolkata, as an Assistant Professor and HOD & Coordinator in the Department of Science, Vocational & Management Studies (Affiliated to MAKAUT, WB). He received first class second place in his Master of Business Administration. He also completed Kings College London's ‘Business Management’ Specialized Certification Course (U.K.). He is a Certified ‘Online Teaching Educator (UK) and Digital Marketer’ from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Cambridge Marketing College (UK). He also received a certificate from YALINETWORK on 2nd June 2022 for "The Young African Leaders Initiative Award." He bagged HubSpot Academy's ‘Digital Advertising’ Certified exam in Massachusetts, United States.
He is also a Certified ‘Strategic Leadership & Marketing Product Innovator’ from The University of Maryland (USA). He received a First Class PGDPM (NIPM), Kolkata. He also holds a first-class UGC-NET. He has 16 years of academic experience as well as 6 years of industrial experience. Unichem Laboratories Ltd, RPG Life Sciences Ltd, and Sanofi-Aventis India Ltd are among his previous employers. In Unichem Laboratories Ltd, he got the prestigious Star Performer Award (2001). He worked with RPG and Sanofi-Aventis India Ltd as a sales manager.
He began his academic career as a Faculty at IISW&BM, Kolkata. He has taught Industrial Sociology, Marketing & Behavioral Sciences, and Branding & Digital Marketing to postgraduate and undergraduate students at CIEM, MANIPAL UNIVERSITY, USHA MARTIN UNIVERSITY, Vidyasagar University DDE, IBS, ICFAI, IIMS, and St. Xavier's College in Kolkata. He worked for numerous universities as a Head Examiner & University Station Supervisor.
He contributed to a variety of national and international Periodicals & Journals. He won the best research paper award at the NSHM Business School's International Management Conference (e-NCLAVE) on "Innovation in Management Practices" on the 17th and 18th of February 2022 (Affiliated to MAKAUT, WB). From the Pune Institute of Business Management, he earned the best speaker and paper presenter awards at a national level seminar on "Education System and its Implication: A Paradigm Shift" on the 4th and 5th of April 2019 (Affiliated to Pune University). Until now, he has participated in numerous Faculty Development Programmes and workshops. He is actively involved in research. He obtained Ph.D from The University of Burdwan.
