About

Dr. Sonali Parida is a researcher at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, USA. Her research focuses on how cells respond to oxidative, immune, and genomic stress, and how these responses affect cellular fitness and disease. She previously worked at ICAR-CIFA, India, where she studied stress-responsive gene regulation in fish, developed recombinant protein assays and established species-specific iELISA tools for aquaculture health monitoring. Her current work centers on retrotransposons and their role in genome stability and gene regulation, advancing understanding of stress adaptation and disease mechanisms. She has published in journals such as Molecular Immunology and Antioxidants, and serves as a reviewer for Springer Nature journals including Scientific Reports and BMC Genomics.
