About

Joaquim Santos Albino is a Portuguese independent researcher and founder of HibriMind — Hybrid Intelligence Studies. His work explores the organization of intelligence across biological, cognitive, and artificial systems, with particular emphasis on organismic integration, consciousness, human–AI coupling, and the relational foundations of disease.

His current research is organized around four complementary programmes: Human–AI Systems (hybrid intelligence and recurrent human–AI interaction), VIVENS (the organism as the experiencer of being alive), LIMEN (relational ontology of cancer and organismic regulation), and AUCTORITAS (distributed architectures for scientific publishing and knowledge legitimacy).

His publications combine conceptual analysis with interdisciplinary synthesis across biomechanics, systems biology, philosophy of biology, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence. Through HibriMind, he develops an open and versioned model of scientific communication based on persistent identifiers, transparent revision, and public accessibility.
