About

I am Soumyadeep Bose, a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at the Department of Geological Sciences, Jadavpur University, supported by the DST-INSPIRE Fellowship. My research focuses on “Sedimentological, Bio-Geochemical, and Palaeomagnetic Studies of Late Archaean BIFs and Associated Metasediments from Chitradurga Schist Belt (CSB), Dharwar Craton – Implications for Tectonic Setting, Palaeoposition, and Depositional Environment.”

I am deeply passionate about understanding Earth’s geological history through sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, biogeochemistry, stable isotope geochemistry, and palaeoclimatology. My research aims to unravel the depositional environments and tectonic settings of ancient rock formations, as well as the climatic and geochemical processes that shaped them. I am particularly interested in investigating banded iron formations (BIFs) to explore the interplay between biological, chemical, and physical factors during the Late Archaean.
