About
I am a 2nd-year PhD student in Biotechnology at the DBT-National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune, as an ICMR-Senior Research Fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Santosh Kumar, Scientist D. My doctoral research focuses on deciphering Gαo-mediated signaling pathways using Caenorhabditis elegans as a model organism.
I hold a M.Sc. in Virology from the ICMR-National Institute of Virology, Pune, affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University, where I investigated the binding pattern of DENV-2 NS1 protein to murine tissues. I obtained my B.Sc. in Microbiology from Fergusson College, Pune, and graduated with distinction. Before my Ph.D., I served as a Technical Officer in the National Viral Hepatitis Control Program at JNMC, Belagavi, where I contributed to public health surveillance and diagnostics through molecular and serological testing for viral hepatitis.
My current technical expertise encompasses C. elegans genetics, protein purification using AKTA Pure Micro Systems, and major routine biochemical techniques. I have co-authored three peer-reviewed articles (two first-author), including a recent preprint on modeling GNAO1 mutations in C. elegans, as well as reviews on respiratory virus diagnostics and CRISPR-Cas9 applications in cancer therapy.
I have qualified for numerous national-level exams, and I am driven by hardworking, collaborative, curiosity-oriented research practices. I am constantly looking for online courses, certifications to enhance my experience. In the long term, I wish to work for the better of society by contributing my part to the development and resource building for the nation.
