About

I am a passionate researcher in microbial interactions and antimicrobial resistance (AMR), I am currently pursuing a PhD in Genetics as part of the Midlands Integrative Biosciences Training Partnership (MIBTP) at the University of Leicester. My research focuses on bacterial communication and the mechanisms that facilitate the switch between host species. With a veterinary background and advanced degrees in Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology, my experience spans diagnostics, mass vaccination campaigns, and public health outreach—equipping me with a broad understanding of the challenges in both animal and human health.

Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have been dedicated to exploring biofilm formation, multidrug resistance, and the impact of probiotics on bacterial behavior. My postgraduate work involved assessing biofilm-forming ability and resistance traits of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus isolated from animal-derived foods. This research, alongside my efforts to develop an AMR awareness module for school students, underscores my commitment to addressing the growing threats of zoonotic diseases, AMR, and food safety.

Armed with skills in microbiological and molecular techniques, scientific writing, and effective science communication, I am dedicated to advancing our understanding of microbial adaptation and contributing to innovative solutions in both laboratory and public health contexts.
