About
Shubham Verma, Ph.D. Scholar – Power Engineering Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India I hold a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Bundelkhand Institute of Engineering and Technology (BIET), Jhansi, and an M.Tech in Electrical Drives from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Power Engineering at IIT Kanpur under the supervision of Prof. Ankush Sharma and Prof. Prabodh Bajpai. My research focuses on the application of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) to provide ancillary services, including demand response, frequency and voltage regulation, and reserve provision. I am particularly interested in co-simulation frameworks, optimization techniques, and leveraging DERs such as PV systems, energy storage, EVs, and biogas generators for grid support and operational reserves. I also completed a three-month research internship at Washington State University (WSU), Pullman, USA, where I worked with Dr. Sanjeev Pannala and Dr. Noel Schulz for energy management and application of EV for load flattening.
