Chandrakanta Behera is a Ph.D. scholar in Mining Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India. His research focuses on blast-induced rock fragmentation and the prediction and optimization of mean fragment size in open-pit mining operations.
His research interests include rock blasting, blast fragmentation, mine-to-mill optimization, rock mechanics, drilling and blasting, machine learning, deep learning, hybrid intelligent models, metaheuristic optimization, explainable artificial intelligence, and data-driven approaches for mining engineering applications.

He has also contributed to the scholarly community through peer-review activities for international journals in mining, engineering, computational methods, and applied sciences.
