About
Dr. Nandini Adla is a Research Associate in the Geotechnical Engineering Division of the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras. She received her doctoral degree from the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), Chennai, India. She was an awardee of the Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF) during her doctoral studies. Her research interests include numerical and experimental investigations to understand the thermo-hydro-mechanical (THM) behaviour of bentonite buffer for the safe disposal of radioactive waste. Additionally, she pursues research in the area of biomediated ground improvement, specifically bio-chemo-hydro-mechanical (BCHM) modelling aspects of microbially induced calcite precipitation treatment in coarse-grained geomaterials.
