About

I am an expert in synthetic organic chemistry with a strong focus on the development of novel C–C and C–hetero bond-forming methodologies using transition metal catalysis, including remote meta-C–H activation and acid-catalyzed synthesis of biologically significant scaffolds and their derivatives. I hold a Ph.D. from IIT Hyderabad, India, which laid the foundation for my rigorous training in organic synthesis and research innovation. During my tenure at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), I worked extensively on photocatalysis and the development of bioactive small molecules, gaining valuable experience in designing and executing complex synthetic routes. I am currently continuing this research at Northwestern University, expanding into new frontiers of organic synthesis, and working in organic materials. I have hands-on expertise with a wide range of analytical and preparative instrumentation, including Microwave synthesizers (CEM), NMR, HRMS, UV-vis, FTIR, Rotary evaporators (Heidolph & IKA), and both manual and automated flash chromatography systems. I am also experienced in mentoring master’s students, developing research skills, and writing peer-reviewed research articles. With a multidisciplinary and detail-oriented approach, I am dedicated to driving innovation in the synthesis of complex organic molecules for impactful scientific and therapeutic applications.
