About

Research Scholar in Materials Engineering with research experience centered on advanced electron microscopy, nanoscale deformation mechanisms, and structure–property correlations in complex material systems. Hands-on expertise in SEM, TEM, HR-STEM, SAED, STEM-EDS/EDX, and FIB-based specimen preparation for microstructural and crystallographic analysis of bulk and thin-film materials.

Current research focuses on in situ electron microscopy of deformation and fracture phenomena in high entropy alloys and ceramic systems, with emphasis on defect evolution, crack-tip plasticity, dislocation interactions, and nanoscale strain accommodation. Interested in correlating atomic-scale structural evolution with functional and mechanical behavior using multidimensional microscopy approaches including advanced STEM and 4D-STEM methodologies.

Research activities also include epitaxial thin-film systems and symmetry-driven functional materials, involving crystallographic analysis, local symmetry breaking, and structure–property relationships in quantum and functional thin films. Collaborative work spans antiferromagnetic thin films, topological materials, and energy-storage materials, integrating electron microscopy with electrochemical, magnetic, and structural characterization techniques.

Technical expertise includes:
• In situ deformation microscopy
• TEM/SEM-based microstructural characterization
• HR-STEM imaging and diffraction analysis
• STEM-EDS elemental mapping and compositional analysis
• FIB lamella and micropillar preparation
• Thin-film and interface characterization
• Defect, strain, and crystallographic analysis in advanced materials
• Correlative structural and functional characterization of HEAs, ceramics, and thin films
