Dr Rishiraj Sinha is a distinguished physician and researcher in the field of Transfusion Medicine, with a stellar academic and clinical track record across India’s most elite medical institutions, driven by a clear objective of advancing patient care and outcomes.
After earning his MBBS, he completed his MD in Transfusion Medicine from AIIMS Bhopal, a premier Institute of National Importance. He has served as a Senior Resident Physician at AIIMS New Delhi, the country’s apex centre for clinical care, research, and medical innovation. Currently, he is working as Classified Consultant (Assistant Professor) at Artemis Hospitals, Gurgaon (Gurugram), one of the top corporate hospital of country, contributing to advanced transfusion services and patient-centric clinical care.
Recognised nationally with five prestigious awards, including the Delhi Medical Council (DMC) Award and the highly competitive Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Award, Dr Sinha is known for pushing boundaries in both research and clinical practice.
As a Principal Investigator on several funded national-level research projects, he has led impactful work across multiple domains:
• Advanced immunohematology diagnostics and complex case problem-solving
• High-precision blood component preparation adhering to international quality standards
• Expertise in therapeutic and donor apheresis, including:
– Peripheral blood stem cell harvesting for bone marrow transplantation
– Therapeutic plasma exchange for autoimmune and neurological disorders
– Plateletpheresis and cytapheresis for specialised clinical needs
• Comprehensive blood banking operations with a focus on patient safety, quality control, and innovation
His research interests span cellular and regenerative therapies, clinical transfusion medicine and transfusion-transmitted infections, diagnostic and therapeutic immunohematology, and innovations in apheresis-based interventions.
Dr Sinha is an active member of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) Working Party on Information Technology and contributed to the development of the international guideline titled “Guideline on External Electronic Communication of Transfusion Traceability Information,” aimed at enhancing the secure and standardized exchange of transfusion traceability data worldwide. His involvement reflects his commitment to digital transformation and global harmonisation in transfusion medicine.
A recipient of multiple national grants and internationally recognised for his contributions, Dr Sinha has represented India at major global conferences in South Africa, Spain, Indonesia, and Thailand. His portfolio includes multiple research presentations, with pioneering studies acknowledged for their novelty and clinical significance.
