About
Hello, I'm Sanjiban Dutta. Originally from a small village in Bankura, West Bengal, I spent my childhood in Chittaranjan, where my father worked for Indian Railways. After completing high school at D.A.V Public School, HCL Rupnarayanpur , I pursued my passion for science and mathematics by earning a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Durgapur. Fascinated by the science behind atmospheric processes, I continued my academic journey with a Master's degree in Earth System Science and Technology from IIT Kharagpur. During my studies, I developed a keen interest in Antarctic climate variability, driven by its significance as a key indicator of climate change. Now, as a Ph.D. candidate, I'm focused on investigating the impacts and dynamics of Antarctic climate variability, particularly exploring its links with tropical forcing phenomena like ENSO and Zonal Wave-3. Through my research, I aim to contribute to our understanding of climate change and its implications for the planet.
