About
ð¬ I am a CSIR-Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and PhD Research Scholar at the Nitte University Centre for Science Education and Research (NUCSER), NITTE (Deemed to be University), Mangalore. My research is focused on Infectious Diseases and Microbial Genomics, with a particular interest in understanding the role of mobile genetic elements, especially integrons, in driving multi-drug resistance among Enterobacterales.
𧬠Currently, my work explores innovative strategies to inactivate integron-mediated resistance mechanisms using CRISPR-Cas9 technology, with the long-term goal of developing novel approaches to curb the dissemination of antimicrobial resistance.
ðŠ In addition, I have expertise in bacteriophage isolation and characterization, having successfully worked on Burkholderia species, which adds a strong dimension to my experience in microbial therapeutics and resistance management.
ð¡ Passionate about bridging molecular biology and translational research, I aim to contribute towards tackling the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance through advanced genome-editing tools and phage-based approaches.
