Dr. Radhey Shyam Verma (b. 1971): Working as Research Officer (Biochemistry) - Scientist Level-4, since 2006 at Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Aligarh (Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine, Ministry of AYUSH-Government of India, New Delhi) obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 2002 on the topic “Studies on chlorpyrifos toxicity in rats with special reference to oxidative stress” from Jiwaji University, Gwalior, MP, India, Dr. Verma continued his research studies as Senior Research Fellow in ICMR funded project until 2004. Later he joined as Assistant Professor in the College of Life Sciences, Cancer Hospital and Resaerch Institute, Gwalior, M.P., India before joining present assignment. Dr. Verma did his postgraduation in Biochemistry (1996) from Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Faizabad, U.P. and assigned the dissertation work titled “Isolation and chemical characterization of fibronectin protein” as a part of fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of M.Sc. in Biochemistry.
Dr. R.S. Verma is presently assigned the research responsibilities including interpretation of results of biochemical and pathological investigations carried out on the efficacy and safety of Unani medicines at RRIUM, Aligarh on various diseases and conditions. Based on these research studies, Dr Verma has to his credit over 28 original research papers published in peer reviewed scientific national and International repute. Besides these, Dr. R.S. Verma participated in eight scientific journals of conferences and workshops related to biochemical and pathological investigations on Unani drugs in India.
