About
I am a neurogenomics researcher with a strong interest in the genetic architecture of neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders. I currently work at the Centre for Brain Research, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), where I lead analyses for India’s largest whole-genome sequencing study in Parkinson’s disease, aiming to sequence 1000 PD cases across the country. My work focuses on identifying novel pathogenic variants, performing rare variant burden analyses, and conducting cross-population meta-analyses with European cohorts. I am interested in the impact of non-coding regulatory variation on brain-related disorders and in integrating genetic data with neuroimaging, environmental factors, and multi-modal datasets. My broader research interests include applying machine learning models to uncover hidden genetic patterns, leveraging multi-omics approaches, and exploring spatial transcriptomics to map gene expression changes within brain regions. Ultimately, my goal is to combine these approaches to better understand disease mechanisms and contribute to precision medicine for neurological disorders.
