About

I am a senior research Scholar at IISER Pune.

My primary research interest is to Design, grow and characterize single crystals of low dimensional magnetic materials where the magnetism is confined to either one or two dimensions that exhibit intriguing physical properties like Quantum Spin Liquids, Kitaev quantum spin liquids (KQSL), Superconductivity, metal–insulator transition, etc.

These crystals are grown using different crystal growth techniques like the Modified Bridgman method using an optical float zone furnace, the Vapour transport technique, and the flux method.

The grown crystals are characterized using different experimental probes to investigate their structural and magnetic properties. Single crystal X-ray diffraction using four circle diffractometer is extensively used to understand the structural properties, whereas Physical property measurement system (PPMS quantum design, USA) is used to measure specific heat, magnetic susceptibility, magnetization, and other transport properties. We also collaborate with different experimental groups for neutron scattering and muon spin rotation measurements. With the help of different beamlines, we take advantage of synchrotron facilities for XRD, XPS, XAS, XAFS, low-temperature and room-temperature
Raman, etc.
