About

Prof. (Dr.) Ritu S. Sood is an accomplished academician, filmmaker, artist, and media professional with over three decades of distinguished experience in television, film production, art, and higher education. She currently serves as the Dean of the Sharda School of Media, Film & Entertainment (SSMFE), Sharda University, where she leads academic innovation, research, and industry collaborations in emerging media domains.

Her research interests include ICT in digital education, marketing communication in performing arts, social media and youth engagement, gender representation in media, and sustainability communication through visual storytelling. She has successfully supervised multiple PhD scholars, developed experiential learning frameworks, and contributed to national and international conferences and publications.

A recipient of several awards, Dr. Sood has produced impactful documentaries and campaigns for several national and international Tv networks like NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation), SBS, IRIB, DFID, Prasar Bharati among others...

Beyond academia, she is a renowned visual artist, known for her evocative abstract works exploring the interplay of color, emotion, and nature. Her paintings have been exhibited across India and internationally, reflecting her philosophy of creativity as a bridge between art, education, and social consciousness.
