About
Dr Sumit Kar is working as a Director, Professor & Head of Department of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS), Sevagram, a reputed tertiary care rural hospital in central India. He has established the Department of Dermatology at MGIMS and is having experience for more than 28 years as teaching faculty at MGIMS. He is a mentor for ICMR STS undergraduate guide, a guide for NACO MSACS project and a postgraduate guide in MUHS university. He is a post graduate examiner in number of universities all over India (NTR University of Health Sciences, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Ahmedabad University, Baroda University, SRM University, Indore University, Ujjain University, Bhopal University, Madras University, Ahmedabad University, DNB). He was a office bearer and member of multiple academic bodies in Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashikroad. He has worked as an executive member of IADVL and Vidarbha Dermatological Society. He is having more than 100 publications in peer reviewed indexed national as well as international journals. He has attended and chaired many national and international conferences till date.
