About
Sonal Gupta is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Division of Electronics and Embedded Systems, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where she is developing an MLIR based compiler for a vector processor (by IMEC). Her current research focuses on algorithm–architecture co-design, compiler-driven mapping of parallel algorithms to vector and accelerator architectures.
She received her PhD in Computer Technology from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in March 2025, an M.Tech. in Electronic Systems from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2015, and a B.E. (Honours) in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from Punjab Engineering College in 2011.
Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked for five years at Texas Instruments, Bengaluru, as a Digital Design Engineer, where she was involved in RTL design, verification, and validation of safety-critical microcontroller peripherals.
Her research interests include application-level synthesis for hardware accelerators, algorithms for parallel processing, vector and multiprocessor architectures, computer architecture and interconnection networks, embedded systems, image and data processing, and VLSI design, verification, validation, and design automation.
