About
I am grateful to God for the serendipity that has shaped my path as a budding researcher in solar energy, display, and lighting applications. I use computers to model electronic devices and have experience in hardware modeling, particularly with MD5 cryptography during my undergraduate studies.
During my Ph.D., I gained expertise in modeling semiconductor devices, understanding their working mechanisms, and optimizing them for better performance. While defects in semiconductors are often considered undesirable, my research in collaboration with PV-Lab, EPFL, revealed a different perspective. Our study on carrier-selective solar cells demonstrated that defects can assist in the collection of photo-generated charges.
I also collaborated with the Technical University of Denmark to study titanium oxide-based electron-selective contacts. Our recent findings emphasize the need for improved characterization strategies to advance the development of these carrier-selective solar cells, a project funded by CSIR, New Delhi.
My passion for research led me to join Purdue University, USA, as a BASE Intern under Prof. M. A. Alam, where I explored field-level modeling of solar panels. Currently, I am keen on modeling novel solar cells, solar farms, batteries, and other electronic devices of interest. I strive to continue my research alongside academic teaching, which is an integral part of my role at SASTRA Deemed University.
I am particularly enthusiastic about employing agrivoltaics, which I believe will benefit farmers and help future generations meet their energy demands.
Currently, I am learning the fabrication of OPVs and OECTs, aiming not only to compare them with my simulation results but also to develop them into tangible products.
In my leisure time, I enjoy reading Tamil literature, meditating, practicing yoga asanas, and swimming. I also cherish spending time with my family and friends.
