Snehashis Alam is currently a Senior Research Fellow and Teaching Assistant in Disaster Management Studies in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in BITS Pilani K. K. Birla Goa Campus, India. He is an expert in Disaster Management and Environmental Geography, focusing on livelihood insecurity and health. Conceptually, his work explores disaster health and livelihood insecurity on river islands (chars) during disasters. His present research interests include the socio-environmental interface, resilience in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) systems, livelihood insecurity, and social development.
