Mono-isoamyl dimercaptosuccinic acid (MiADMSA) has been designed, synthesized and extensively studies by his group in not only conventional screening models but also in advanced human embryonic stem cells and derived embryoid body. The potential drug has reached the stage of ‘Investigational New Drug’ and may soon be undergoing Phase-I clinical trial in collaboration with Cadila Pharma, Ahmedabad.

He is Associate Editor and member editorial board of 17 prestigious international journals like Food & Chemical Toxicology (Elsevier), Journal of Trace Elements in Biology & Medicine (Elsevier), Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety (Elsevier), Human & Experimental Toxicology, Oxidative Medicine & Cell Longevity, and Associate Editor of BMC Journal of Integrative and Alternative Medicine and Oxidant and Antioxidant in Medical Sciences etc and Guest reviewer of more than 70 international journals.
He is a Fellow of National Academy of Sciences (India) (FNASc), and was awarded prestigious Dr Kailash Nath Katju award of Madhya Pradesh Government in the year 2003 and Shakuntala Amir Chand award of Indian Council of Medical Research in 1995.
He was recently awarded prestigious DRDO Scientist of the Year Award for his contribution in developing a new drug for arsenic. He has also been conferred with prestigious ORATIONS like Prof. Govinda Achari, Prof. S.B. Pandey of Indian Pharmacological Society, Prof. R. Nath Oration of PGIMER, Chandigarh and Prof. R.C. Dalela ORATIONS of Academy of Environmental Biology. Dr Flora was also awarded Distinguished Scientist Life Time Achievement Award of Society of Toxicology (SOT, India) and Association of Biotechnology and Pharmacy (ABAP), Archana Gold medal of Academy of Environmental Biology (AEB) for his contribution in the area of Toxicology. Dr. Flora was awarded “Best New Technology Award” of Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) for 2009 for developing a new and the first chelating drug in India which may also be the only therapy for chronic arsenic poisoning.
