About

I am a Ph.D. researcher in Biological Sciences at the CSIR–Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (CSIR-IHBT), Palampur, India, with research interests in enzyme biotechnology, protein biochemistry, microbial genomics, and sustainable biomass conversion. My doctoral research focuses on the discovery, recombinant production, and biochemical characterization of lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases (LPMOs) and other carbohydrate-active enzymes (CAZymes) involved in the oxidative degradation of lignocellulosic biomass and chitin.

My research integrates microbial screening, whole-genome sequencing, transcriptomics, molecular cloning, recombinant protein expression, protein purification, enzyme kinetics, and structural bioinformatics to understand enzyme function and develop efficient biocatalysts for industrial applications. I have hands-on experience with chromatographic protein purification (AKTA Pure FPLC), UPLC, MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and computational tools including AlphaFold, PyMOL, and molecular docking.

My work has resulted in peer-reviewed publications in international journals, including The FEBS Journal, Scientific Reports, and Archives of Microbiology. I am particularly interested in enzyme discovery, protein engineering, structural enzymology, microbial biotechnology, and the application of renewable biocatalysts for sustainable biorefineries and the bioeconomy. I aspire to contribute to innovative research that bridges fundamental enzymology with industrial biotechnology and supports the development of environmentally sustainable technologies.
